From 07 to 11 March 2018, the 52nd edition of the ITB International Tourism Fair in Berlin, a strategic platform of the sector, saw the participation of 10,000 tourism companies from 186 countries and regions, about 80% of the exhibitors come from abroad of which Madagascar.
As usual, 9 Malagasy tour operators * market and present the assets of the Big Island, under the leadership of the National Tourist Office of Madagascar ONTM. In order to enhance the Madagascar destination, a special event “Madagascar Promotion Tour 2018” was held at the stand on 08 March. Note that the Embassy accompanies each times the ONTM in the success of the show.
This constant presence of Malagasy professionals, including tour operators, Air Madagascar, Ravinala Airport, hotels (The Louvre) allows to further increase the visibility of the Big Island and highlights all its touristic facets such as fauna and flora diving, fishing, trekking, fishing, whale watching. They will have the opportunity to exchange directly with the 100,000 international professional visitors in search of prosperous business opportunities. Their presence also reassures German partners. The weekend is dedicated especially to the public eager for information for their next trip.
But Malagasy participants also have the opportunity to know current trends in the sector allowing them an effective response to the demands of travelers. In this regard, the “over tourism”, the revolutionary forms of travel and digitalization are the main topics of the conferences discussed during the event, with a focus on luxury travel, medical tourism, technological travel and sustainable.
