Administrative Services
Official documents which have been established on the national territory of Madagascar and which must be produced on the territory of a foreign State, must be covered by the apostille, issued by the relevant authority of the Malagasy Government, such as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and sometimes, according to local customs, the Embassy of Madagascar or the General Consulate where a Malagasy citizen lives.
Therefore, any Malagasy official document intended to be produced abroad must be certified. This attests the veracity of the signature of the author of the document, the capacity in which the signatory acted and, if necessary, the identity of the seal or stamp with which this document is endorsed.

- Passport holders must, if they settle abroad, register with the Consulate of the Republic of Madagascar within three months of their arrival in the consular district.
